June 28, 2008 Meals offered
The Brownsville Area School District will be offering free breakfast and lunches to children under the age of 18.
Meals will be provided at the Brownsville Area Middle School Friday through July 18. Breakfast will be served from 8:15 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be offered from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Library program begins
Bowlby Public Library Family Literacy Program is offering a Fantasy Film Literature discussion group Monday. The meeting will be held weekly from 4 to 5 p.m. each Monday. Discussion will begin with “The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Taxes due Monday
Dunbar Township residents are reminded that county/township real estate taxes must be paid by June 30 in order to avoid an additional penalty fee.
The Dunbar Township tax office will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to accommodate taxpayers.

Registration extended
The Connellsville Recreation and Martial Arts Center has extended the registration period for its summer martial arts camps being held at the Connellsville Community Center gymnasium.
The martial arts center is also offering a special introductory rate of $35 for the Olympic style Tae Kwon Do program.
Registrations will be taken at the community center gymnasium on Sundays and Tuesdays from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. or by calling 724-628-7819.
Public invited
The Mon Valley Art Club will present an Art-A-Rama on Saturday, July 5, at the home of Sabra Clark, 522 Fayette St., Belle Vernon.
The fund-raiser will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public.
Members of the art club will be on hand to display their original works of art, which will be available to purchase. The festivities also will include crafts and baked goods.
