She was born March 18, 1928, in Uniontown, Pa.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
She formerly co-owned and operated Lauretta and Vera Beauty Shop and had been a Brownie Troop Leader.
Lauretta was a wonderful loving mother who was greatly appreciated by her large extended family for her gifted baking and cooking!
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wade H. Hall and Mollie M. Baker Hall, and four brothers, Charles E. Hall, Dalton Hall, Francis Hall, Hampton Hall.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Raleigh Hughes; children: Dwane M. Hughes and his wife Danette & Pam Barnhart and her husband John all of Uniontown, Pa., Patti Judy and her husband Scott of Hibbs, Pa.; 7 grandchildren: Kristen Hughes, David Hughes and wife Michelle, Melanie Smiley, Melissa Hughes, Jason Judy and wife Jessica, Dylan Judy and wife Kelly and Danielle Hughes; 13 great-grandchildren: Tre Corine, Micah, Breauna, Chanel, David, Noah, Kala, Joshua, Jacob, Brooke, Molly and Madie; a brother Harry Jordan Hall and wife Donna of Fayetteville, Pa.; a sister Jessie Murn Baker of Boyds, Maryland; and a sister-in-law, Vernall Hall.
Lauretta’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the members of the Fayette Home Care and Hospice Team who lovingly cared for their mother—Nurse Pete, Nurse Debbie, also her Aides, Linda, Jody, Donna, Elaine and Diane, and others.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, June 30, 2008, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Reverend Michael I. Orsted officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests memorial contributions be made to the Fayette Home Care, 110 Youngstown Road, Lemont Furnace, PA 15456.
