James Hudson Higinbotham, age 78, of East Lansing, Michigan, and formerly of Hiller, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, surrounded… James Hudson Higinbotham, age 78, of East Lansing, Michigan, and formerly of Hiller, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.
James was born November 12, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to James H. Higinbotham and Anne Moore Higinbotham.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954.
“Jim” graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
He was employed with the IBM Corporation as a Manager and retired after 38 years of stellar service.
Jim and his wife, Ruth Ann, retired to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and lived there from 1989 to 2005. They moved to East Lansing, Michigan, in 2005 to be closer to family.
Jim and Ruth enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann; Sons: Kim James Higinbotham and wife Mary, Shelby Township, Michigan, and Thomas Hudson Higinbotham and wife Patti, Perry, Michigan; Daughter-in-Law, Sue Frey, East Lansing, Michigan; four Grandchildren: Holly Maino and her husband Tony, Emma Higinbotham, Rachel Higinbotham, Mady Higinbotham; and Great Granddaughter, Olivia Maino.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 6, 2008, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Private Burial Service will follow.
