Barbara Hartshorne Smith, age 69, of 6790 Ruhland Drive, Frederick, Maryland, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Frederick Memorial Hospital.

… Barbara Hartshorne Smith, age 69, of 6790 Ruhland Drive, Frederick, Maryland, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born November 25, 1938, in Illinois, she was the Daughter of Edward Hartshorne and Mary Warner Hartshorne.

Barbara had been employed with the Pennsylvania Job Service and as a Tour Guide at the Fallingwater House of Frank Lloyd Wright in Pennsylvania.

She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Missions Committee and the Staff and Parish Relations Committee.

She was also a member of the Women’s Club in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Barbara was preceded in death by her Husband, Wayland R. Smith, of February 14, 2000, and by her Parents.

Barbara is survived by one Daughter, Kristen M. Moser and her husband, Chip, of Frederick, Maryland; two Sons: Gregory T. Smith and his wife, Caron, of Oxnard, California, and Douglas S. Smith of Frederick, Maryland; one Brother, Joseph Hartshorne of Parumph, Nevada; and eight Grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Rebecca Smith, Zachary Smith, Melissa Smith, Anastasia Smith, Samuel Smith, Adrianna Smith and Baby Moser.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. in the OTTERBEIN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Hagerstown. Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, Missions Committee, 108 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
