Packages for troops

1 min read

Two area Boy Scouts who are working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout pose with dozens of packages ready to send to U.S. troops in Iraq Tuesday outside the Fayette County Courthouse. Adam Kubiza (left) and Andrew Jellots have been working with local veterans advocate Joe T. Joseph (background, right) to organize and send the packages to soldiers. Joseph said the boys are working with local churches, schools and the community to prepare the packages, noting that 65 packs were mailed Tuesday. “It takes young men like these for the community to realize how important the Boy Scouts are to us,” Joseph said. Also shown is veteran supporter Jim Colvard.
