Gino I. Gilbert Giberti, 96, of Uniontown passed away Monday evening, May 5, 2008, in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center.

He was born on November 23, 1911, in Phillips, Pa., the son of the late Silvio Giberti and Caterina Carlotti Giberti.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Gomber Gilbert and his brothers and sisters. Gino was the oldest of thirteen children.
He was a member of Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Holy Name Society. Gino was a retired UMWA coal miner and he was also a custodian at Saint Mary (Nativity) Church for many years. He loved to make homemade wine and enjoyed talking politics.
Gino was born in Phillips, Pa, raised in Italy until he was nineteen years old and then he returned to the United States in 1930. He loved the City of Uniontown.
He loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Emma Jordan Giberti; his loving and devoted children: Ann Catherine Staso and husband, Ronald of Euclid, Ohio Rosalie V. Suchevits and husband, Robert of Smithfield, Pa., Bruno C. Gilbert and wife, Collette of Royal Oak, Michigan, Raymond S. Gilbert and wife, Theresa of Uniontown, Edward T. Gilbert and wife, Kathy of Uniontown; 18 Grandchildren and 37 Great-Grandchildren. Gino is also survived by his step-children: Mary Lou Carson of Uniontown, Anello Jordan of Uniontown, Judith Tefft of Woodbridge, Virginia and Gloria Hawkins of Felton, Delaware; sisters: Isotta Gamberini and Rosina Baccelega; brothers: Ferruccio Giberti and Rev. Father Renaldo Giberti all of Italy; many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, May 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, in Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F. as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
