Clara Lucille Bate, 75, of Moffitt-Sterling, Dilliner, Pa., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va…. Clara Lucille Bate, 75, of Moffitt-Sterling, Dilliner, Pa., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born March 15, 1933, in Dilliner, she was a daughter of the late Mary Cagey Zaher and John Zaher.

She was a faithful member of the Point Marion Apostolic Church, and a very dedicated worker for the Sisters of the Apostolic Church.

A 1951 graduate of Point Marion High School, she had been employed over the years as a clerk at the Point Marion Drug Store and also a nurses aide at the Monongalia General Hospital.

Surviving are nine children and their spouses: Lucinda Ray and Thad Kolanko of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Roy and Carrie Dodson, Pamela Sue and Allen Morgan, Paula and David Morgan, and Jennifer and William Kerns, all of Morgantown, Thomas, Jr. and Kathy Bate, and Robert and Kristina Bate, all of Dilliner, James Bate and Lily Moody of Point Marion, and Mary Jo and Bill Reynolds of Edgewater, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnn Brown of Monroeville, Pa.; and a brother, Jim Rumble of Greensboro, Pa.

Predeceased are her husband, Thomas Bate, Sr. on August 14, 2002, and two grandsons, Gary Wayne and Gary Thomas.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday in the POINT MARION APOSTOLIC CHURCH from noon until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with her pastor, the Rev. David Lee Corob officiating.

Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.
