Martha V. (Smonskey) Smore, 94 years of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully on May 6, 2008, in Hillside Manor Personal Care… Martha V. (Smonskey) Smore, 94 years of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully on May 6, 2008, in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home in Uniontown, Pa.
She was born May 12, 1913, in Messmore, Pa., daughter of the late Ignatius Smonskey and Elizabeth Ovczarzak Smonskey.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stephen C. Smore and brothers and sisters, Stanley Smonskey, Frank Smonskey, Joseph Smonskey, Stella Smonskey, William Smonskey, Helen Smonskey and Thomas Smonskey.
Surviving are her two sons: Stephen C. Smore, Jr. and wife, Mary Ann of Vienna, Va., and Ronald J. Smore and wife, Judith of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren: Cheryl Monahan and husband, Robert, Stephen C. Smore, III, Katherine Dodson and husband, Glen, Michelle Smore, Adrienne Shea and husband, Daniel, Julie Anne Ehrlich and husband, Judd, David Smore and Joanna Laramore and husband, Ryan and great-grandchildren: Erin Monahan, Alison Monahan, Abigail Dodson, Evan Dodson, Sam Ehrlich, Lila Ehrlich and Ellie Laramore.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 9, 2008, until 11 a.m., when a Blessing Service will be held with the Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
