Joseph W. Mutnansky, 82, of Connellsville, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Excela Health West-moreland Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born January 25, 1926, in Uniontown, a son of the late Stephen and Catherine Petrosky Mutnansky.
Joseph was a graduate of the former South Union High School.
He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Corp. and was a member of the Connellsville VFW No. 21.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machinist for the Anchor Hocking Corp. Glass Plant in South Connellsville.
Joseph was a member of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. He was also a member of the Jednota Lodge in Uniontown and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Joseph will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving wife of 57 years, Benedetta Spicola Mutnansky, his loving daughter, Mary Ann Kunkle and husband, Lee of South Greensburg, and his wonderful grandsons: Joshua and Samuel Kunkle. Joseph was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Mutnansky and 5 sisters: Agnes Ptak, Mary Veno, Catherine Burd, Evelyn Merrit and Sister Mary Lucille, VSC.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Friday, May 9, 2008, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, with Reverend Terry Hercik as Celebrant.
A Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Connellsville VFW and American Legion and Trotter American Legion Honor Guard.
