      FREE LUNCHEON – A Mother’s Day Luncheon will be held at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, May 10 at 12:30 p.m. Admission is free. Morris United Methodist Church will host a yard sale on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and a bake sale on May 10 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Proceeds to benefit Missions of the United Methodist Women. Sponsored by Mt. Morris United Methodist Women.

      SQUARE DANCE -The Pursley Baptist Church will hold a square dance at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Friday, May 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. The event will take place on the top floor of Building 10 and will benefit the local mission projects of Pursley Baptist Church. Dave Dahl will be the caller for the night and there will be refreshments available along with a 50/50 drawing and a cake walk. For more information, call Helen King at 724-627-6261.

      SPAGHETTI DINNER – A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held on May 10 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion in Waynesburg. Take-out orders will also be available. Proceeds will benefit the Carie Lynn Ross Memorial Fund. All donations will be appreciated to help the family with expenses. Also, donations can be made at Community Bank in Waynesburg.

      CHICKEN DINNER – Wind Ridge Little League Baseball will hold a chicken dinner on Saturday, May 10 from 4-7 p.m. at the Graysville Fire Hall. Menu will include creamed chicken over biscuits, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert, and drink. Take-out will be available.

      MONTHLY JUBILEE – The Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church will hold their monthly Jubilee on Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m. The charity for the evening will be the Pregnancy Crisis Center, and a collection of diapers, newborn through size 4 will be held. The guest performer will be Blossom McIntire, and refreshments will be served at the close of the evening.

      CHILD SAFETY – State police in Waynesburg will hold a free child restraint checkup event from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Fox Ford-Mercury auto dealership in Waynesburg. The event will be held in the used car lot area at 743 E. High St. Police encourage any parent wanting to have their child restraint checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure child seats to participate. Certified state police child restraint technicians will be on hand.

      RETIREMENT DINNER – The annual Central Greene Retirement Dinner will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at Rohanna’s Restaurant in Waynesburg. Join CGEA and CGESPA in honoring the retirees of 2008 at the annual retirement dinner. Dinner will be your choice of steak or chicken. Tickets are available for sale from Matt Blair at Margaret Bell Miller Middle School. Contact Matt at 724-852-2722 if you need a ticket.

      GOLF OUTING – The 1st annual Drive Out Lymphoma Golf Outing, sponsored by Golden Living Center in Waynesburg, will be held Friday, May 23 at Rohanna’s Golf Course at 9 a.m. with food, prizes, a Chinese auction, and more. All proceeds will benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. For more information, call Michelle at 724-852-2020.

      FLEA MARKET – American Legion No. 416 in Graysville will hold a flea market with live entertainment on Saturday, May 24 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Anyone interested in setting up a table can contact Carolyn Crawford at 724-499-5703. Proceeds will be used for a scholarship for West Greene School District.
