Ida H. Wolf Jacobyansky, 86, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the Carol S. Robinson Hospice Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Born May 6, 1921, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Francis and Helen Wolf.
She spent most of her married life in Port Vue, Pa., where her husband was Burgess and Mayor from 1948-1964. She was one of the founders of the Port Vue Women’s Club.
She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress and was known for making intricate Barbie Doll clothes.
She was an avid gardener and always had a wonderful vegetable garden in the summertime and also grew day lilies and irises of every variety.
She graduated from Taylor-Alderdice High School in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Jacobyansky, in 1991.
She is survived by a Daughter, Dr. Dorothy Jacobyansky, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Sons: Dr. Francis A. Jacobyansky and wife, Nancy, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Andrew Jacobyansky of Long Island, New York, and William Jacobyansky and wife, Shannon, of Allentown. Pennsylvania; Brothers: Robert Wolf of Munhall, Pa., Paul Wolf of Butler, Pa., and Richard Wolf of Philadelphia, Pa.; Sisters: Helene Merrit and Adele Delich both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Grandchildren: Stephen Cline, Michael Jacobyansky, Nicholas Jacobyansky, Abraham Jacobyansky, Ruth Jacobyansky, and Samuel Jacobyansky; numerous Nieces and Nephews.
There will be no visitation. Her cremation was handled by the ROGERS & BREECE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 (910-483-2191).
A Memorial Service will be held this summer for family and friends.
