He was born May 1, 1931,… Dr. John J. Racic, died May 6, 2008, at University Care in Chardon, Ohio.

He was born May 1, 1931, in Edenborn, Pa. and lived in Eastlake, Ohio for 42 years.

He was a professor of Mathematics and a founding faculty member of Lakeland Community College serving since 1967. John was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Lake County Willoughby South High School Boosters Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion of Collingwood, Ohio.

He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Joanne M. Racic and sister, Mary (Mitzi) Racic; his mother, Mary and father, John Racic.

He is survived by his son, John C. (Sandi), James E. (Erin); grandchildren: Jonathon, Ryan, Alena, Samantha and Annaliese and sisters, Rosemary (Paul) Silvestro and Ann (Joe) Elias; brother-in-law, Peter (Bertha) DeMarco.

Funeral Mass for Dr. John J. Racic was held Saturday May 10, 2008, at Saint Justin Martyr Catholic Church at Eastlake, Ohio.
