Searights woman accused of assaulting boyfriend
State police have filed multiple charges against a Menallen Township woman accused of assaulting her boyfriend and trying to hit him with a tire iron. Tamerra N. Hall of Searights was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment following the alleged incident Thursday afternoon.
Trooper Ozzie Mills III said Hall attacked Marlin Crawford, no address available, causing abrasions and bruises to his neck, during a fight that continued at several locations in Fayette County.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Mills, Fayette County 911 officials received a call around 1:55 p.m. reporting a man dragging a woman from a sport utility vehicle on Hadenville Road.
Mills said as police were en route to the scene, they received additional calls that the couple was continuing to drive short distances, exit the vehicle and then resume the physical altercation.
Police caught up to the feuding couple on Krulock Road in Menallen Township, where they discovered Hall swinging a tire iron at Crawford, Mills said.
After troopers interviewed both Hall and Crawford, police took them both into custody, Mills said.
Mills also noted that a 1-year-old child was discovered in a child seat in the rear of the vehicle.
Mills said that while taking the couple to the Uniontown barracks, Hall became “increasingly violent” and had to be restrained in the rear of the patrol car.
Hall was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $10,000 bond following her arraignment.
A preliminary hearing on the charges will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr.
Mills said Crawford was charged with disorderly conduct for his role in the altercation.
