Fan Hollow Road, Davidson Siding Road affected by construction
Unforeseen traffic issues relating to ongoing construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway in Fayette County have necessitated restrictions affecting two secondary roads, according to a spokesman from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Spokesman Joe Agnello said the restrictions affect Fan Hollow Road and Davidson Siding Road.
Agnello said a section of Fan Hollow Road near the border of North Union and Menallen townships, between Altman Hill Road and Ruane Road, was closed Friday afternoon and will remain closed until about Aug. 1.
The closure will allow construction crews to make improvements to Fan Hollow Road in the vicinity of new twin bridges that will carry the new expressway over Fan Hollow Road.
The closure had been scheduled for the summer but was moved up because of safety concerns about a deteriorating slope below Fan Hollow Road.
Also, traffic on a section of Davidson Siding Road in Redstone Township will be placed into a single-lane pattern, controlled by flaggers, starting Monday.
The single-lane pattern on Davidson Siding Road, between Route 40 and Allison Road, will be in effect from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays until about mid-June for gas line and storm sewer work.
