Russell E. Merryman, 86, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, May 19, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born… Russell E. Merryman, 86, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, May 19, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born November 13, 1921, in Haddenville, Pa.

Preceding him in death were his parents Howard R. Merryman and Goldie F. Cupp Merryman, a brother, Clark Eugene Merryman and a sister, Evelyn Lucille Morrison.

Mr. Merryman was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 58. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II receiving several medals including the Bronze Star, was a route salesman for the Fike Dairy Company for 25 years, was later self-employed in renovation and remodeling and worked at Neubauer’s Flowers for 12½years.

Surviving are his wife, Karen N. Allison Merryman; three children: Joyce A. Hall of Oliver, Pa., James E. Merryman and his wife, Elaine of Bossier City, Louisiana and Russell E. Merryman and his wife, Michelle of Somerset, Pa., four grandchildren: Andrea, Robert Ellwood, Mitchell Ryan and Amy and three great-grandchildren: Christian, Angela and Farrell.

Friend will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 11 a.m. the hour of service.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

Amvets General Marshall Post 103 Hopwood, Pa., will accord military honors graveside.
