Robbery suspect turns self in

By Rebekah Sungala 1 min read

State police said one of two men accused of robbing the Dairy Mart in Dunbar Township last week turned himself in Tuesday. Joshua L. Hall, 22, of Dunbar was charged with one count of robbery following the incident, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Hall and another man entered the store on West Crawford Avenue and acted as if they were going to purchase tobacco.

While one of the men was initiating the sale, the other man reached around the counter and grabbed a handful of $10 bills from the cash register when the clerk opened it to complete the transaction.

The clerk grabbed the man by the wrist but the man was able to break free and flee the store, police said.

Both men left the parking lot in a white minivan with black molding and a busted window operated by a woman, according to police.

Police did not indicate what role Hall allegedly played in the robbery.

According to police, Hall turned himself in Tuesday afternoon at the state police barracks in Uniontown.

Police said Hall was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Randy Abraham and placed in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
