Lori’s Look

By Lori Ann Goodwin 2 min read

So, we have arrived at Memorial Day weekend for 2008. The rain finally quit, the sun is shining, and I don’t have to wear my hat and gloves to work anymore. The only downside to this fantastic weather change is that I woke up this morning with the worst sinus headache imaginable, and after 3 hours of nursing it, it has only subsided into a dull throb. But, I’m trying to look on the bright side because we have a beautiful weekend ahead of us, and it’s nice that our veterans and soldiers can be honored along with sunshine and blue skies.

There are many, many programs and ceremonies occurring this weekend throughout Fayette County and southwestern Pennsylvania. The Herald-Standard ran several articles over the last few weeks that explained where and when the different programs are being held. And, the lead story on Spin It also lists a few of the ceremonies taking place.

Aside from Memorial Day, the Albert Gallatin Regatta is this weekend in Point Marion. It’s always a fun festival, and they have really good hot sausage there too. Saturday is the parade and Regatta Queen pageant. So there’s no excuse for not getting out there and honoring our soldiers and spending time with friends and family.

Have a nice holiday.
