Leah D. Goldsboro Lewis, 97, of Fairchance, Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008, in the Golden Living Center,… Leah D. Goldsboro Lewis, 97, of Fairchance, Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008, in the Golden Living Center, Uniontown, Pa., with her family at her bedside.
She was born January 15, 1911, in Fairchance, Pa., the daughter of Richard Goldsboro and Sarah Kizziah Nixon Goldsboro.
Leah was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairchance.
She had been employed by the Albert Gallatin School District at the now former Fairchance-Georges Junior and Senior High schools as a Cafeteria Manager.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward K. Lewis, a son, Thomas Richard Lewis and his wife, Dorothy, a daughter, Jane Beatty and her husband, William, four sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are a son, Timothy K. Lewis and his wife, Ida, of Fairchance, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Amy Lewis of Fairchance, Pa., Joyce Wigand of North Huntington, Pa., Debbie Miller of Michigan, Tami Beatty of Elizabeth, Pa., Dawn Gibson, Donna Lewis and Brian Lewis all of Fairchance, Pa.; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today, May 27, 2008, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Donald E. Walls officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
