John P. Petrosky, 81, of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born on… John P. Petrosky, 81, of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born on March 17, 1927, in Fredericktown, Pa., son of the late Charles and Anna Sewa Petrosky.

He was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa., Veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion Post 295, John retired from Hillman Barge Corp. and Skirpan Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Marie E. Petrosky; son, John Petrosky and his wife, Fawn of Brownsville, Pa.; granddaughters: Emma and Brianna Petrosky; sisters: Mary Probala of Cleveland, Ohio and Rose Ann Lewis and her husband, Omar (Ike) of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers: Joseph Petrosky and his wife, Agnes of Fairfax, Va., Albert (Abe) Petrosky and his wife, Mary Alice of Brier Hill, Pa. and Andy Petrosky and his wife, Jackie of Frederick, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by brothers, Charles, George and Michael, sisters, Anna Koast and Pauline Hasek.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Panachida Service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Father Jerome Botsko as Celebrant.

Interment will be held in LaFayette Memorial Park where full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 838 and 940.
