Hearing continued for local man
A preliminary hearing was continued for the third time Tuesday for a Connellsville man accused of attacking a 5-year-old boy at Terrace Acres Mobile Home Park in Upper Tyrone Township on May 31. George Lilley Jr. of Connellsville was charged in June before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Sr. with multiple charges including aggravated assault following the attack.
State police said the incident occurred when Lilley entered the residence where the boy was staying and overheard him swearing. Lilley allegedly grabbed the boy and punched him in the face and then threw him onto the floor.
At that point, Lilley allegedly began kicking the child and then bit him twice including one bite to his head, police said.
Lilley then allegedly spanked the child, dragged him from the residence and pushed him down steps outside the home, police said.
Lilley was taken into custody at his home following the attack.
Lilley was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $10,000 straight cash bond.
A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Dwight Shaner.
