Robert “Hank” Dennis, 75, of Wickliffe, passed away September 1, 2008, at Heartland of Mentor in Mentor, Ohio.
Born July… Robert “Hank” Dennis, 75, of Wickliffe, passed away September 1, 2008, at Heartland of Mentor in Mentor, Ohio.
Born July 5, 1933 in Georges Township, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Wickliffe, Ohio for 45 years, and was formerly of the Collinwood neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wickliffe, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, big-game hunting and watching old television shows on “TV Land.”
Mr. Dennis was employed as a machine operator at PMC Industries in Wickliffe.
He retired in 1986 after 31 years of service and later worked as a starter, ranger and groundskeeper at St. Denis Golf Course in Chardon, Ohio for 15 years.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Ninfa “Jackie” (Garcia) Dennis; children: Bobby Dennis of Timberlake, Ohio; Debbie (Bob) Sheplavy of Perry, Ohio and Sharon (Mike) Bellissimo of Willoughby Hills, Ohio; granddaughter, Alyssa Bellissimo; siblings: Donald (Joyce) Dennis of Gans, Pennsylvania; Pete (Vickie) Dennis, Shirley (Ralph) Beatty and Wilma (Sam) Phillips all of Morgantown, West Virginia. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Patty Dennis of Eastlake and many nieces and nephews and their families.
His parents, Harry and Eliza (McFadden) Dennis and brother, Gilbert “Gib” Dennis are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DAVIS-BABCOCK FUNERAL HOME, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, Ohio.
Services and entombment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Knollwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 1678 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Hts, Ohio.
The Rev. Father Andy Turner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will officiate at the service.
