Garnet Mae Coleman Mayhle

Garnet Mae Coleman Mayhle, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., and a former resident of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008, in the Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Born January 9, 1916, in Smithfield, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Robert Coleman and Lavina (Bradee) Coleman.

She was a Brownsville resident for almost 40 years.

She was the Valedictorian of her high school graduating class.

Garnet worked for G. C. Murphy’s in Wilkinsburg, Pa., as well as Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C. Edward Mayhle in 1966, and her sister, Ruth Kasman.

Garnet will be sadly missed by her two sons: Clarence E. Mayhle, Erie, Pennsylvania, and Robert R. Mayhle, Knoxville, Tennessee; her brother, Robert Coleman, Greene Bay, Wisconsin; and by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, September 9, from 7 to 9 p.m.

There will be viewing on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in the WESLEYAN METHODIST CHURCH OF BROWNSVILLE, 6050 National Pike, Grindstone, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Truitt officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania.
