Race winner will win wellness center membership
The Oct. 4 event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Connellsville Falcon Stadium along Arch Street and then follow residential streets through the city’s South Side before ending at the stadium. The 5K run will offer awards in 14 age categories for the top three male and female finishers while the 5K walk will recognize winners in 13 age categories. The top three male and female overall finishers in the run and walk will also receive awards.
Registration is $15 for those registering prior to Sept. 24. All Connellsville school district students and employees along with those from other high school track teams will receive a discount registration rate of $10.
A track team coach must sign the registration form.
The registration fee will be $18 after Sept. 25.
A short sleeve t-shirt is guaranteed for the first 100 registrants.
The grand prize is courtesy of Highlands Hospital. The winner must have completed the race and be present at the award ceremony following the event.
Organizers said that bagels, coffee and fruit would be offered to race participants.
