Waynesburg Chamber plans Business Expo
The theme for this year’s event is “Living Greene.” The event will provide a forum for the community to learn about products and services offered by area businesses, while promoting the concept of renewable resources. Over 50 area businesses will be participating. The event will provide many activities for attendees, including health screenings and prizes. The first 250 participants will receive a free Expo bag.
Southwest Regional Medical Center will be offering blood pressure screenings, Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings, ABI screenings and exercise tips.
If anyone has questions about a medication they are taking, they may bring it with them for review by a pharmacist.
Also on display will be the Lippencott Alpacas, and a variety of activities and food by Stryker’s Restaurant. The Baily Agency will also bring along their Smart Car, a two-seater, gas-fueled vehicle which gets over 40 miles to a gallon.
The Baily Agency challenges county residents with the “Let’s Go Greener in Greene” motto proudly displayed on the side of the car.
In keeping with the theme of the event, participants and businesses are encouraged to bring along used ink jet and laser cartridges for the “Don’t Dump it: Donate it” campaign.
These cartridges will be used to benefit the Humane Society of Greene County. Each cartridge will provide a chance to win 2 tickets to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.
Attendees will also be challenged to make a guess about how many crushed cans are in a packed display.
The person with the closest guess will have a chance to win $500 in free gas, donated by First Federal Savings and Loan.
The event will begin at noon and end at 6 p.m.
