The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department fielded 525 requests for service in August, including 41 protection-from-abuse cases and 143 complaints. Officers said they issued 239 gun permits during the month and served six bench warrants. Tree struck

No one was injured when a vehicle driven by Lindsey Sloan of Ohiopyle swerved to miss a deer and struck a tree on Nelson Road at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, state police said.

Vehicles collide

State police said vehicles driven by Cynthia Kushner of Oliver and Leslie Fields of McClellandtown collided on Route 3009 at 5:06 p.m. Saturday. Kushner and two passengers suffered injuries in the crash, police said.

State police said items owned by Brian Clay and Brain Wood, no addresses available, were stolen from their vehicles while they were parked in Dunbar Township Sept. 5.

State police said a vehicle struck a car driven by Amber Rechichar of Grindstone and then fled the scene on Route 40 at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday.

Checks stolen

Sherman and Martha Smith of Perryopolis told state police that checks were stolen from their home in Perry Township Aug. 18, police said.

Crash reported

State police said cars driven by Gary Seliga of Masontown, Shana Krajnak of Carmichaels and Gary Munson of Wana, W.Va., collided on Route 21 at 10:50 p.m. Monday. Krajnak suffered minor injuries, police said.

Violation reported

The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said officers cited Dunlap Lodge in Brownsville for violating state liquor laws June 30.

State police said a pickup truck owned by Dwayne Dupert of Dilliner that had been reported stolen was found burned on Route 692 in Dunkard Township Sept. 4.

David Martin of Connellsville told police that several items were stolen from his home in Bullskin Township between 3:30 and 10:45 p.m. Monday, state police said.

Mailboxes damaged

State police said vandals damaged mailboxes owned by David Dunham and Wayne Wilson, both of Farmington, on Gibbon Glad Road between 11 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Items stolen

August Gabelt of Connellsville told police that construction materials were stolen from a location on Jefferson Avenue between July and September, state police said.

Violation reported

The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said citations were filed against Darby’s Pub in Uniontown after the establishment allegedly sold alcohol to a minor and sold alcoholic beverages without a renewed liquor license in July.

State police said a toolbox owned by James Scott Sr. of Waynesburg was stolen from his home on Lantz Street in Franklin Township, Greene County, between noon Sept. 4 and 10 p.m. Friday.

State police said charges for drunken driving are pending against a Masontown woman following an incident on Route 21 in Jefferson Township, Greene County, at 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Cars collide

Vehicles driven by Heather Stockton of Smithfield and William Ritz of Carmichaels collided on Carmichaels-Crucible Road at noon Sunday, state police said. Ritz suffered minor injuries, police said.

State police said jewelry owned by Wendy Lint of Smithfield was stolen from her home on Outcrop Road Saturday or Sunday.

No one was injured when a vehicle driven by Christopher Provance of Ronco crashed on Old Route 21 at 2:48 p.m. Friday, state police said.

Window smashed

Deborah Frey of South Union Township told police that vandals smashed a window at her home on Tuskegee Terrace at 5:36 p.m. Monday, state police said.
