Renowned speaker to appear at church

2 min read

The revival will be held at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, and continues at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. HTM’s accomplishments include six albums featuring Cervantes’ trumpet soloing and appearance on four editions of “Moments Together,” the nationally distributed videos by Nazarene Evangelists Gathering. Cervantes is skilled in the trumpet, flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet. He is striving toward new projects including working in his new in-home studios and experimenting with the Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI).

“We are looking forward to having Rudy Cervantes,” said the Rev. John Poling. “He is a gifted and inspired musician, whose music never fails to generate both warmth and excitement.”

Harvey comes to Waynesburg First Church of the Nazarene from Denver First Church of the Nazarene, a church of about 2,000 members. He was the pastor of several churches, and then became the district superintendent of the Quebec District in Canada. He received his doctorate in religious studies at Concordia University in Quebec.

“Dr. Carlton Harvey brings years of experience to us, as a preacher, pastor and church administrator in a variety of settings,” Polling said. “He will be both challenging and encouraging – a great combination. You don’t want to miss this series of services.”

Harvey lives with his wife Sharon and two children, Lyndon and Lauren. He is the son-in-law of the Rev. Harry and Marion Rich, retired missionaries of the Waynesburg First Church of the Nazarene, who reside in Khedive.
