Poll Question
Of the 663 people responding, 27.5 said they would win between nine and 10 games. Another 27.1 percent said they would win between 11 and 12 games. Here’s a rundown of the results: 16.4 percent, 13-14; 10.6 percent, 7-8 wins; 9.5 percent, 15-16 wins; 3.2 percent, 0-1 wins; 2.1 percent, 3-4 wins; and 2 percent, 5-6 wins. The question this week is concerns the federal government’s rejection of a plan to add tolls to Interstate 80. It leaves Pennsylvania officials with decisions to make about how to address the state’s transportation funding needs.
Here are some options:
-The General Assembly could approve a $12.8 billion offer by a private entity to lease the Pennsylvania Turnpike for 75 years.
-The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission could revise or resubmit its proposal to operate I-80 as a toll road.
-Officials could look for other options that might include additional taxes on gasoline or oil company profits.
Which option do you favor? A, lease the turnpike; B, appeal the ruling; and C, impose additional taxes.
