Evelyn R. Showman Lake, 84, of Smock, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at her residence. She was born January 14, 1924, in Connellsville, Pa.

Mrs. Lake was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy, Crosskeys Senior Citizens Center, Brownsville, Pa., and the American Legion Post 51 in Uniontown, Pa.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Albert Showman and Rosella Ringer Showman, her husband, Harold Lake Sr., a brother, Albert Showman Jr., and three sisters, Gertrude Cleo Freeman, Olive Marvin and Katherine Showman.

Surviving are five sons: Harold R. Lake and wife Joan of East Millsboro, Pa., Stanley “Pat” Lake and wife Sharon of Birmingham, Alabama, Fred D. Lake and wife Donna of Uniontown, Pa., Larry E. Lake and wife Crystal of Hopwood, Pa., and Brian K. Lake and wife Janice of Miller Farm, Fayette County, Pa.; seven granddaughters, four grandsons, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME at 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 17, 2008, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Elliott C. Leighty officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
