State police hold luncheon for retirees

Sgt. William A. Zimmerman, who worked 30 years, trooper 1st Class Jeffrey Ramsey, who worked 26 years, and Cpl. Timothy Piper, who worked 25 years, were honored at the recent luncheon. About 75 current and retired state police officers attended the luncheon.

State Rep. Deberah Kula, D-North Union Township, presented Zimmerman and Piper with Meritorious Service Citations from the House of Representatives.

Jim Conway and Neal Christopher, representing Rep. Timothy Mahoney, D-South Union Township, presented Ramsey with his Citation of Meritorious Service.

Capt. Sheldon Epstein, commander of Troop B, which includes the Uniontown barracks, presented the retirees with honorable discharge certificates, plaques commemorating their years of service and Citations of Meritorious Service from state Sen. Richard Kasunic, D-Dunbar.

The Bruderhof Communities of Farmington provided food and beverages for the luncheon.
