Bernice K. Rankin
Bernice K. Rankin, 91, a former longtime resident of Point Marion, Pa., died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the home of Debbie Huey, her caregiver for the past several years. Born July 12, 1917, in Star City, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Victoria Andresky Koztosky.
She had been employed in the decorating department of the Houze Glass Corp. in Point Marion for 50 years, and served as the local Union Officer in the American Flint Glass Workers Union. Over the years, she enjoyed gathering a large collection of rare and beautiful dolls.
Surviving is her son, Richard Allen Rankin and his wife, Rebecca, of Potomac, Maryland; two grandsons: Richard A. Rankin and wife, Amber and Dean A. Rankin; two step-grandchildren: Bill Brown and Sarah Hahn and her husband, Ricky and eight great-grandchildren.
Her surviving brother, Edmund Koztosky of Florida, passed away two days later, on September 15, 2008.
Predeceased are a sister, Eleanor Rye Macozzi, and a brother, Chester Koztosky.
Her son and his family will be greeting friends in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa., 15474 on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Interment will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.
