Farm bureau supports 4-H Youth Scholarship
Roland Daniels, president of the Greene County Farm Bureau, stated, “All 4-H youth should have an opportunity for a scholarship to benefit their education, not just the market clubs. That is why Farm Bureau is donating this money to begin a 4-H Youth Scholarship Fund.” The 4-H Advisory Committee took up the challenge and began raising funds. A 4-H food booth endeavor at the Greene County Fair has proven successful and recently the first 4-H youth scholarships were awarded.
Recipients of $500.00 scholarships were:
Karrie Burns, daughter of Randy and Melanie Burns, is a member of the Central Greene Horse and Pony Club. Her major is vet tech at Fairmont State University.
Brittany Herrington, daughter of Keith and Denise Herrington, is a member of the Boots and Spurs Horse and Pony Club. Her major is education at Penn State University.
Nathan Roberts, son of Pat and Gigi Roberts, is a member of the Shooting Sports Club. He is majoring in engineering at Penn State University.
Sarah Walko, daughter of Joe and Pat Walko, is a member of Central Greene Sew ‘n Sew. She is majoring in intercultural studies at Lee University.
