BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL – Peaceful Springs in Rices Landing will host a “Bluegrass Harvest Festival” on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 2-9 p.m. The rain-or-shine event will feature music from Mac Martin and the Dixie Travelers, the Stevens Family, Hagar’s Mountain Boys of North Carolina and Glory Bound. There will also be hayrides, bonfires and plenty of food. There is an admission price. For more info, call 724-592-6588. CLASS REUNION – The Waynesburg High School Class of 1958 will have an informal gathering on Friday, Sept. 26 at Rohanna’s Restaurant at 7 p.m. Friends of the Class of 1958 are invited to join the class at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Rohanna’s. SQUARE DANCE – A square dance will be held at Harvey’s Grange on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. Food will be available at 6 p.m. Dave Dahl will be the caller.

ANGEL TREE PROJECT – The Greene County office of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Inc. will be accepting chidlren’s names starting Oct. 1 thru Oct. 31 for the “Angel Tree Project.” Accepted applicants must be a Greene County resident 12 years old or younger whose family gross income is at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty level. They must also be signed up by their parent or legal guardian. There are specific guidelines that parents//legal guardians must abide by. CAR SEATS AVAILABLE – The Greene County Safe Kids Car Seat Loaner Program, funded by PennDOT, has car seats available for Greene County families. Car seats are made available to help needy and low-income families follow the law and keep children safe when riding in vehicles. If you need a car seat, call Greene County Safe Kids at 724-627-3168. Available car seats fit babies/children from birth to one hundred pounds.

PASSPORT FAIR – The United States Postal Service will be holding a Passport Fair at the Waynesburg Post Office on Friday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event will be for people wishing to obtain a passport at a convenient location. CLASSES ANNOUNCED – Greene County Department of Recreation Aerobics Classes recently announced its fall schedule. Pilates will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and Aerobics will be held at 6 p.m. both Tuesday and Thursday. All classes are held in the 4-H Building on the Greene County Fairgrounds. CLUB MEETING – The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels. ABATE TOY RUN – The Greene County chapter of ABATE will hold its annual “Treats for Tots” Toy Run on Oct. 4. Signup will be held at South Side Deli from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and bikes leave at 12 p.m. Cost will be $10 a bike or a new toy worth $10, no stuffed animals please. This will be a scavenger hunt run with trinkets at some of the stops; collect all of the trinkets and win prizes at the end of the run.
