David Colston Busey

David Colston Busey, 94, went home to be with the Lord the morning of August 14, 2008, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He attended Hampton University, was a World War II Veteran, member of American Legion, retired Government and state employee, Mason and a member of Asbury North United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Colston and Inez Jackson Busey, sister, Helen Nalle, brothers, Howard “Hardy” Busey and Ralph Charles “Cakie” Busey.

Survived by wife of 50 years, Gwendolyn M. Busey; son, David 20 Christopher Busey; daughter, Dionne Camela Busey; grandchildren: David Mychal, Elizabeth, Christopher, Courtney, Jasmin, Shanikqua, Marquan, Shaleah; three great-grand-children; sisters: Anna Foster, Estelle Flowers; brother, Alvin Busey; brothers-in-law, Robert Palmer, Doug (Mary Jane) Palmer; sister-in-law, Helen (Carl) Burns. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral was held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Asbury North United Methodist Church, 1586 Clifton Ave. Rev. Gregory H. Herndon, Officiant. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. Arrangements by C.D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1217 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, Ohio.
