Wallace Morris Davis
Wallace Morris Davis, age 81, a former resident of Uniontown, Pennsy-lvania, who was residing with his son in Mustang, Oklahoma, passed away due to lung cancer Thursday, September 18, 2008. He was born June 27, 1927, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Wallace was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the now former North Union High School, Class of 1945, and served in the United States Army.
He was a member of the Hopwood (Pa.) Exchange Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 Marching Band in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the Kiwanis and the American Institute of Banking.
Wallace played in the Sammy Bill Orchestra and was employed by Fayette Bank for 41 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, Frances Elaine (Fornili) Davis, and a sister, Nancy Misch of Norwood, Ohio.
He is survived by two sons: Gary K. Davis of Monroe, Michigan, and Douglas M. Davis and wife Roxanne of Mustang, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Katy Beth Davis, Gary R. Davis and Regina K. Davis; brothers: Donald R. Davis of Wadworth, Ohio, and Thomas K. Davis of Fort Myers, Florida; and two sisters: Dorothy L. Gilland of Point Marion, Pa., and Emma Jean Russell of Perryopolis, Pa.
Wallace spent his last days watching and admiring his granddaughter Regina’s horsemanship skills on her Pinto World Champion.
Family will receive Friends at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
A Memorial Mass follows at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini as Celebrant.
Inurnment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47.
