Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival to be held April 18-19
The 19th annual Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival will be held on April 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. both days at Mason-Dixon Park. Admission to the festival is free, and there will be free door prizes and live music throughout the event. Food items will include spring tonic menu, beer-battered deep fried ramps, ramp burgers, fried potatoes and ramps, ramp sampler platters, ramp soups, ramp kielbasa, cornbread and beans, hot dogs, ramp lettuce salad, hot and sweet sausage sandwiches, French fries, onion rings, hoopie hash, sassafras tea, lemonade, Uncle Jim’s donuts, funnel cakes, homemade pies, salt risen bread and much more. Breakfast, which will be served at 8 a.m., will include biscuits & gravy.
There will also be crafters and artisans, a visit from Lippencott Alpacas and achain saw carver.
Fresh ramps will also be available for sale. Ramp Chef Walter Danna will demonstrate ramp cooking. The event will also feature ramp wine and ramp cheeseball tasting.
