Mary Semosky
Mary Semosky, 99 of Richeyville, PA died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in the Donnell House, Washington, PA. She was born September 6, 1909 in Keisterville, PA a daughter of the late John and Julia Elko Phillips.
Mrs. Semosky was a member of the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, PA, Steele-Lillie American Legion Post 744 Ladies Auxiliary of Marianna and was a Gold Star Mother having lost a son in action in Korea. She was a past president of the Richeyville VFD Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters: Helen Miller of Sagamore Hills, OH, Margaret Sawicky of Richeyville, PA and Anne Yurkovich of Sagamore Hills; OH; one son, Charles Semosky of Sunnyvale, CA; six grandchildren: Barbara Sawicky Retucci, Daniel Miller, Susan Sawicky, David Yurkovich, Stephanie Semosky Rancourt, and Lynn Yurkovich Woods; six great grandchildren; two sisters: Margaret Stefan of Pittsburgh, Pa and Anna Maruska of Erie, PA; one brother, Julius Phillips of Vestaburg, PA; former son-in-law, Bob Sawicky and dear friend Don Moon.
Deceased is her husband, George Semosky, Sr., one son, George Semosky, Jr. who was killed in action in Korea, one daughter, Marie Semosky, one sister, Rose Phillips, six brothers, Mike, John, Andrew, William, George and Adam Phillips, two son-in-laws, Frank Miller and George Yurkovich.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where a prayer service will be held at 9:45 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2009 followed by a funeral service in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, PA at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jerome Botsko as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hiller, PA.
