Edward Dmochowsky
Edward Dmochowsky, 85, of Point Marion, Pa., a former longtime resident of Mapletown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Point Manor Personal Care Home. Born July 2, 1923, in Mutual No. 3, Westmoreland County, Pa., he was a son of the late Thomas and Michaelena Niemczyk Dmochowsky. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, a coal miner, retiring from the Shannopin Mine in Bobtown, a member of the U.M.W.A., Local 6159, and he was a member of St. Hubert’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Marion.
He is survived by his two daughters: Michaelene Paugh of Oviedo, Florida, and Valerie Wysocki of Irwin, Pa.; three grandchildren; a sister, Stella Barrish of Carmichaels, Pa.; and a brother, Stanley Dmochowsky of Springfield, Oregon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine Yorko Dmochowsky, on November 5, 2005, and three brothers, Joseph, John and Peter Dmochowsky.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday until 9:30 a.m., the time of a Blessing Service, with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence V. Holpp officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
