Masontown police warn of scam artist

Masontown police are warning area residents of a scam artist going door-to-door throughout the borough. Police Chief Joseph Ryan said the suspect has been approaching residents and offering to cut their grass. Ryan said that the suspect has been able to take money from several victims without providing grass-cutting services. He said that police are aware of the incidents and have interviewed the suspect. He noted that the incidents remain under investigation and charges are pending.

Ryan said that anyone who has been approached in such a manner should call police at 724-583-7779.
