Mrs. Adelina (Iannuzzi) Lizza, age 78, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving Family after a long bout with Leukemia. Adelina was born on November 1, 1930 in Chianche, Provincia di Avellino, Italy, daughter of Antonio Iannuzzi and Rosa (Donisi) Iannuzzi.

She left Italy on May 1, 1967 and arrived in America on May 10, 1967 with her three boys by her side and her loving husband waiting for her to start their new adventure in America. With their new adventure starting, they knew they would make a brighter future for their children.

Adelina loved traveling with her family, especially to Italy, where she visited her family and friends.

She lived life to the fullest and was a beautiful, caring, loving person who was adored by her family and friends.

She was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and the Saint Therese Altar Society and a member of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Loggia Civilta e Progresso 643 Order of Sons of Italy in America.

Adelina is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Mario Lizza, to whom she was married 59 years; three sons: Anthony M. Lizza and wife Judith of Scottdale, Pa.; John Lizza and wife Betsy of Uniontown; Walter J. Lizza and wife Amy of Uniontown; a brother, Palmerino Iannuzzi and wife Consuelo of Italy; a sister, Iole Meola; five Grandsons: Mario Lizza and wife Jennifer, John Lizza and his fiancee Kelly, Anthony M. Lizza II and his fiancee Kristin, Dante Lizza, and Cameron Lizza; two Granddaughters: Adele Lizza and her fiance Jeremiah and Gina Lizza; one great granddaughter, Sophia Lynn Lizza; great grandson, Anthony M. Lizza; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, August 3, 2009) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak, V.F., Pastor, as the Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mount Saint Macrina, Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today, August 3, at 3 p.m.

Saint Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.

Visitation was also held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
