Church to hold old-fashioned Tent of Meeting
Solid Rock Ministry – Faith, Hope, Love is hosting an old-fashioned Tent of Meeting in Uniontown’s Marshall Park that begins today at 5 p.m. and continues through Sunday. “In the Old Testament, it talks about a Tent of Meeting. It’s a place where people gathered together and went before God in a special atmosphere and it means his presence is with us,” said the Rev. Buzz Hall, pastor. The three-day event begins at 5 p.m. today with gospel music and there will be preaching of the word at 7 p.m. There will also be free food, including hot dogs and hamburgers.
Innerlight will provide music over the weekend as the event continues Saturday at 1 p.m. Bill Layhue of Faith Assembly of God in Uniontown will talk at 6:30 p.m. about a missionary project his church undertakes in Mexico to build houses.
On Sunday, Solid Rock will move its worship to Marshall Park for a service at 11 a.m., followed by a covered-dish dinner and music. There is also a covered-dish dinner on Saturday.
Different churches will set up tents with literature and a vendor will sell Christian T-shirts throughout the weekend.
The event is open to everyone.
