Charges withdrawn against teens

2 min read

Charges were withdrawn Wednesday against two Uniontown teens accused as adults for allegedly using a gun to rob a South Union Township convenience store in June. State police Trooper Alec J. Hamilton said Christopher Leon Chisler, 17, and Davis Wade Hall, 16, were each charged as an adult by Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. with robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and simple assault. During a preliminary hearing Wednesday afternoon before George, the charges against both suspects were withdrawn. Further details were not available.

Hamilton said the robbery occurred shortly after 11 p.m. June 21 when four teens entered the Dairy Mart store on Dixon Boulevard. Hamilton said two of the suspects went behind the counter and started to remove cartons of cigarettes.

He said the other two suspects forced an employee behind the counter and made her remove cash from the register and place it in a bag. The clerk was not injured in the holdup.

During the robbery, Hamilton said one of the suspects brandished a handgun.

The teens then fled the store with $185 and several cartons of cigarettes.

Both teens had been held in the Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond prior to Wednesday’s hearing.
