Ruby M. Jacobs, 94, of Daisytown, PA (Crescent Heights), died Monday, August 17, 2009 in the Country Care Manor, Fayette City. Ruby’s family is grateful to the staff of Country Care for their considerate and attentive care.

She was born September 6, 1914 in Carnegie, a daughter of the late Ruby Aley Miller and Elmer Louis Miller.

Ruby was a 1932 graduate of California High School. On June 24, 1938, she married John R. “Jake” Jacobs, Sr., who died on June 29, 2007. Both she and her late husband lived with their loving daughter and son-in-law, Virginia (Ginny) and Paul Zelina of Daisytown, until April 2009. Virginia and Paul provided a happy home for many years and the family is very appreciative and thankful for this blessing.

She and her family were members of the Daisytown Presbyterian Church.

Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Ginny and son-in-law, Paul are daughter, Joan Ellen (John) Zelina of Ohio, and son, John (Carol) Jacobs of Hickory; also surviving are grandchildren: Christine Wadsworth of Clover Hill, Paul Zelina Jr. of Missouri, John Zelina Jr. and James Zelina of Ohio; and great grandchildren: Hollie and Kayla Wadsworth and Steven, John, Timothy and Jack Zelina. Other survivors include nephew, George Lannum and family,of Ohio; niece, Margaret Hulings Parisi and family of Maryland; and nephew, Harry Hulings Jr. and family of Virginia.

Ruby was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased in addition to her parents are brother, Gordon Miller and sisters, Thelma Lannum and Phoebe Hulings.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2009 with the Rev. Lgene Bonnell officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ruby’s name to the Daisytown Presbyterian Church, 76 Church St., Daisytown, PA 15427.
