Edgar C. Lininger
Edgar C. Lininger, 73, of Hopwood passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born November 19, 1935 in Farmington, son of the late Carl and Albertha Niner Lininger.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Thomas Lininger and two children: Edward J. Lininger and fiancee’, Carolyn Fisher and sons of Uniontown, Lori Hawk and husband, Scott of Purcellville, Va.; four grandchildren: Robin Nicole Lininger, Monica Lynn Lininger, Joshua Hawk and Gracie Hawk; two great-grandchildren: Cameron Lininger and Evin James DiNunno and close personal friends, Rita and Bill Kulchock.
Ed was a member of the Hopwood United Methodist Church, he was a Honor Roll member of the Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department. He was the previous owner of the Lininger Gulf Station in Hopwood since 1958 and had recently been employed with Advanced Auto Parts. He was an avid Automobile enthusiast and collector. He loved auto racing, gardening and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 11 a.m. the hour of the service with Rev. Diane Olson and Rev. Madison Stringfellow officiating.
Private interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hopwood United Methodist Church.
Hopwood Vol. Fire Dept. will hold services in the funeral home at 8 p.m. today.
