Bernadine Eloise Glass Hawkins, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, August 21, 2009, in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born August 16, 1926, in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Carten Glass and Kathryn Grace Montague Glass, her husband, Charles Edward Hawkins and a sister, Beverly Glass Seiler.

Mrs. Hawkins was a Veteran of World War II having served Honorably in the Womens Army Corps, retired as a nursing supervisor from Mercy Hospital in 1978, attended St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, was a member of the Mercy Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul store for many years.

Surviving are a niece, Paula Lim and husband, Dr. Dawson Lim of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grand niece, Caitlin Lim of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two nephews: Charles Seiler and wife, Hwa Cha of Orlando, FL and Terry Seiler and wife, Marci of McKinney, Texas and many grand nieces and nephews

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa. on Tuesday morning until 10 a.m. when private services will be held with the Rev. William D. Rodahaver officiating.
