Joseph P. Scabis, 77 of Lanham, Md. and formerly of Herbert, Pa. died August 6, 2009. He was born October 29, 1931 in Redstone Township Pa. to Angelo Scabis and Pauline (Coppolino) Scabis.

Joseph served in the Korean War and retired from the United Parcel Service.

He is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Helen (Cmos) Scabis; Children: Joseph M. Scabis, Gary Scabis, Darla Gepert (Doug), John Scabis (Tricia); Grandchildren: Joey B. (Marjean), Michael, Nicholas, Jonathan, Andrew, Lucas, Jacob and Mia; Sisters: Carmella Glagola, Mary DeRose (Pete) Phillip Scabis (Lois) and Nina Panko (Carl); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family and friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to RENDON-HALE FUNERAL HOME in Lanham, Md. and services were held Monday, August 10, 2009.

Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, Md.
