DeLeons celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Mario DeLeon of Tampa, Fla, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 14 at a dinner and dance hosted by their children, Joseph, Daniel and Anthony and his wife, Sheila. Family members and friends attended the celebration in Tampa.

Their children, Anthony, Daniel, Sheila and grandchildren, Alex, Zoe and Haley, performed with the DeLeon Band for dancing. Their son Joseph gave the champagne toast.

They were married Aug. 22, 1959, at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Maxwell with the Rev. Richard Molnar officiating. Their reception was held at the Sons of Italy in Brownsville.

They are both graduates of Brownsville High School.

Mrs. DeLeon is the former Yvonne Atz, daughter of the late Rudy and Mary Atz of LaBelle.

She is a graduate of the University of South Florida. She is an associate professor emerita from Pasco-Hernando Community College in Brooksville, Fla.

Mr. DeLeon, a musician and bandleader, is the son of the late Riziero and Emma DeLeonibus.

He is a graduate of California University and the University of South Florida and is retired from teaching science in Hillsborough County, Fla.

They are the grandparents of Nathan, Alex, Zoe, Haley, Danielle and Michael.

Each summer, the DeLeon family visits with family and friends in the local area.
