Clayton R. Rugg, 78 years, of Mill Run, Pa., died Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa. Born on April 23, 1931 in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Eli Rugg and Helen Augustine Rugg.

Mr. Rugg was formerly employed at the now former Anchor Hocking Glass Plant in South Connellsville, Pa.

He was also a self-employed Farmer.

Mr. Rugg was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Steven Rugg; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lowdermilk; two brothers: Earl Rugg and Homer Rugg; and infant sister, Louella Rugg

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Miner Rugg; his children: Clayton Eli Rugg and his wife Denise, Larry Rugg and his wife Penny, Kathy Rugg and Nancy Rugg all of Mill Run; five grandchildren: Amy Tressler and her husband Brian, Steve Rugg, Matthew Rugg, Cindy Henry and Anita Lancaster and her husband James; 14 great grandchildren.

Family will receive Friends today (Monday, August 31, 2009) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Pennsylvania where Services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Leroy Kesler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Maple Summit Cemetery.

Visitation was also held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m.
