Uniontown New learning center opens Faith Learning Center has opened a new education center at 110 Daniel Drive, Uniontown. The center provides preschool, before and after school care and field trips for children from age six weeks to 12 years old. All meals are provided and the center is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Owned and operated by Patrick and Mary Tressler, the center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and accepts CCIS funding. The center is currently a star-two in the Keystone Stars program. It contains more than 2,000-square-feet and offers access to a fenced playground. The Tresslers have more than 13 years of experience in childcare. Patrick is a graduate of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus with a degree in human development and family studies and is a certified American Red Cross professional rescue instructor. Mary, currently the preschool teacher, has more than 124 years of classroom experience. Beth Moore, a Penn State Fayette graduate, is center director. All staff members are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.

Uniontown Salisbury joins law firm

Attorney Sheryl R. Heid, owner of Family Matters, Attorneys at Law, has announced the appointment of Attorney Brian J. Salisbury to the Uniontown office. As an associate, Salisbury will concentrate in the areas of divorce, child support and custody litigation.

Salisbury, a lifelong Fayette County resident, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from California University of Pennsylvania. He earned his juris doctor cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich. He is currently a member of the Fayette County Bar Association.

Family Matters, which also has offices in Perryopolis, focuses the practice on drafting wills and powers of attorney, divorce, custody and adoption legal issues, and estate planning for the residents of Fayette County.

Harrisburg Redding confirmed

The Pennsylvania Senate this week confirmed Russell C. Redding as Pennsylvania’s new Secretary of Agriculture. Redding has held the post of acting secretary since late August and succeeds Dennis Wolff.

Redding, who recently visited with students at D. Ferd Swaney Elementary School and with local farm and business leaders, is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, having earned his bachelor and master’s degrees in agriculture and extension education. In 2005, he was named an outstanding alum by the university. Redding was also a Pennsylvania State Future Farmers of America (FFA) officer, serving as vice president for the agricultural education organization. In recognition of his support, Redding has been awarded the Honorary Keystone Degree and the Honorary American Degree. In 2009, the Pennsylvania FFA Association recognized him for his 30 years of committed service to the organization.

Redding, his wife Nina, and sons Garrison and Elliot, reside in Adams County, where the family is active in the Upper Adams 4-H Club.

Morgantown, W.Va. Moore joins ad firm

BlaineTurner Advertising, a full-service marketing and public relations agency, has named Kristin Moore as graphic designer. This hire will allow Moore to utilize her leadership and artistic abilities in an exciting and creative environment. Moore joins the Morgantown-based company from the Barnes Agency, where she was account manager and graphic designer. Her experience ranges from overseeing and developing entire print campaigns to fulfilling the needs of her clients.

Moore graduated from Marshall University with her bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design.
