James J. Mullen, Sr.

James J. Mullen, Sr., 84, of Republic, Pa., died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown. He was born July 23, 1925, in Monongahela, Pa., the son of the late Aloysius J. and Anna (Ksenzak) Mullen.

Jim was a member of the Holy Rosary Church in Republic, Pa., he was a coal miner at Robena Mine and also a Steelworker at Christy Park.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, James J. Mullen, Jr., brothers, William Mullen, Edwin Mullen and a sister, Dorothy Mullen.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Dunlevy of New Salem, Pa.; two sons: William Mullen and wife, Cindy of Republic, Pa. and Robert Mullen and wife, Luann of Arizona; five grandchildren: Robin Perdue, Gina Woodrum and husband, Tim, Samantha Wrobel and husband, Rob, Nicole Wong and husband, Jody and Christina Mullen; three great-grandchildren: Grayce Woodrum, Maura Woodrum and Chloe Wong; a sister, Ellen Gorski of Schulkill, Pa.; two brothers: Aloysius Mullen of Ohio and Donald Mullen and wife, Patty of Beaver Falls, Pa. and Long time friend, Steve “Skibo” Molnar of Republic.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 19 Legion St., Republic, Pa., on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 10 a.m. to noon, at which time a Blessing Service will be held with the Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay officiating.

Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Brier Hill, Pa.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the Fayette Friends of Animals.
