Injuries reported in fire

Robert Esquivel/Herald-Standard Volunteer fire crews from California, Roscoe, West Brownsville and Brownsville were called out to a structure fire shortly before 1 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Union Street in California, Washington County, near the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. The fast-moving fire caused heavy damage to several of the third-floor apartments located directly above P. J. McMonagle’s Bar leaving many of its residents homeless. Two injuries were reported. However, their condition was not known at press time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
